So this color is really a much lighter heathery shade than appears on my computer screen.

This scan also illustrates one of my favorite stash tricks. After I knit a gauge swatch, I scan it with  tape measure and the label as I did here. I should also add a sticky note with the needle size on it. Then I file this scan and I have an easy record of the yarn and gauge.

I am probably going to felt this swatch, so the scan becomes really helpful in determining the amount of shrinkage and then I can make my calculations based on that.
